Module 2 Artwork Analysis

These photos are being used to help persuade and represent strength by getting the Covid-19 vaccine. When you are looking at the form of the image it has three photos that have some length as well as width. Each photo is focusing on a different aspect of strength and support from all different ages and background to represent strength and unity. The colors they are using in these pictures are bright and positive. Attention getters and positive colors. One of the photos looks like she is kneeling and supporting the three other people and protecting them against the virus. Showing all different ages as a first line of defense. Although everyone looks at photos with their own background and may read negatively based off color but I think they focused more on positivity and showing peace and community coming together to accomplish a common goal. The author Valentina Di Liscia wants us to believe she is trying to stop any reasons why people should not be getting the vaccine so we can go back to our normal daily routines and less restrictions and stress. Regardless if you are for or against COVID-19 vaccines this photo show a part of history that affected everyone worldwide and we were all going through it together. Showing in many ways that we are not all different and have shown that if we all are vaccinated we can defend against this pandemic and create a barrier that cannot be broken. This article as well as all of us going through this time will be apart of history that will be apart of our kids history and we will have to answer if we were part of the solution or we chose to ignore what we could do to make sure that the future for our children is COVID free. We have read about the diseases in the past and how people chose to fight it so that as we got older it would not have to be a heartache we would have to face. I want to be a part of what saves the world and makes it brighter, together.

  1. I like the fact that you brought up the colors. This works well with something like this because when someone sees vibrant colors we automatically want to assume judgement in a positive way. The painting in the middle seems to resemble Uncle Sam. Representing the military and encouraging people to join and do their civil service. Do you think this is what is portraying in this piece in the middle?

  2. The paintings being recreated are pretty iconic, at least the recreation of Rosie the Riveter, which was first used to inspire women who were out working during World War 2. They are all trying to get us to be united to try and get rid of the current pandemic, and I think you did a great job of describing that across all 3 paintings.

  3. I like how you were including the real world with the pictures. COVID was a big part of our lives and no matter how much we want things to go back to normal it is now part of our everyday life and a big part of our history. You also Described this work of art very nicely.

  4. COVID impacted all of our lives forever and its crazy that one day future generations will be learning this in their history classes and they will come to us one day and ask how the world was back then. As much as we want things to go back to normal it almost seems like it never will, but who knows only time will tell.
